Prime decided to check if everyone was back home from their Christmas Eve parties, so he could begin his Christmas duties. The Autobots hadn't expected Christmas to be THAT big last year, so of course they'd been swotting up to ensure they were fully prepared this year! Although they weren't in their usual places, Prime found all his subordinates were safe and well after one of the busiest autograph-signing days in the calendar (the busiest day of all would be tomorr- nowait, it's today, isn't it? Later today?). Ironhide was in the canteen surrounded by empty glass cubes, Jazz and Ratchet were passed out in the living quarters in front of the TV, and Bumblebee had made it halfway up the loading ramp that led to his quarters before he'd succumbed to his sleeping circuits.

Satisfied that Santa was now safe to do his rounds, Prime quietly made his way back to his own quarters to fetch the Christmas presents Mikaela had told him everyone would appreciate (she said there was no point asking Sam because he was a man). Just as instructed, he had lovingly wrapped them in shiny paper, tied them up with matching shiny ribbons, and lovingly eyelasered their new owner's names onto the itty bitty little tags.

When he thought about it, Prime could see why Mikaela had selected each present for its recipient - a can of Brasso for Ironhide and his cannons, a new stereo for Jazz and his appalling taste in Terran music, Yoga DVDs for Ratchet and his temper, and a Slumblebee cuddly toy for Bumblee just because he's Bumblebee. He found himself wondering if Mikaela had suggested a present for him, and also wondered what the Decepticons would be doing this Christmas. They had been bored silly last year - no matter how hard they tried to annoy the humans, the squishies were all in such good spirits it kinda defeated the point.

As quietly as he could, the Autobot leader moved around the deepest levels of the Hoover Dam to lay the gifts beside their new owners. When he came to lay the first present, which was Bumblebee's, Prime realised that the little yellow scout hadn't chosen a good place to sleep... he would get squished by the stampede of humans due to arrive in a few hours for their Christmas photos and autographs! Hiding all the presents behind his immense frame, Prime gave the sleepy bot a playful kick and said,
"Santa's not going to leave your presents here, they'll get covered in humans!"
After a moment's dazed thought, Bumblebee's processors realised what Prime meant and he scurried off to his proper sleeping place.

Prime decided to hand out the other gifts first and come back to Bumblebee, so he headed off towards the living quarters to put Jazz and Ratchet's gifts next to them on the sofa. Something shiny caught his attention in a storage cupboard en route, so he made a mental note to come back and check it over later. Prime knew he had to be careful with the next delivery... Ironhide wasn't the sort of fella who appreciated being woken up even when he hadn't been drinking. Despite all the other Cybertronians joking that Ironhide was the only robot that could scare Prime, they didn't realise how true their comments actually were.

The massive weapons specialist was fast asleep with his square head on the table, cannons retracted and optics dimmed, so Prime decided to take his chances and gently dropped Ironhide's present in an empty cube before making a quick exit! The last delivery was, of course, back upstairs to Bumblebee's quarters and Prime knew there were special rules for younglings - they got more presents than their elders (and he'd been taking deliveries of Bumblebee gifts all month so far), they got letters back from Santa, and they must never EVER be woken up while their presents were being delivered.

Bearing all this in mind, Prime tried to maneouvre his way round Bumblebee's quarters which were filled to capacity with all manner of cards, boxes, gift bags and shipping crates. When he was almost within arm's reach, he couldn't get any further because the little scout had surrounded himself with all his presents as closely as possible, in order to start tearing them open as soon as possible!!

No matter how he tried to wriggle, stretch, lean and twist, Prime just couldn't get his bulk closer to Bumblebee... but he really wanted to leave this little present right next to Bumblebee! Just as he was about to consider admitting defeat and placing it on top of another box close by, he suddenly realised he had a way to extend his reach - his sword! Bending down so he didn't take the ceiling out, Prime hung the parcel by its ribbon on his index finger, then popped out his powered-down sword. It worked! The little Slumblebee was safely beside Bumblebee in a Sparkbeat, which meant Prime could go and investigate that strange shiny object he'd seen earlier.

Upon closer inspection it turned out to be a huge box lovingly wrapped in shiny purple paper with cute little silver Decepticon logos printed in a random pattern all over it. The whole package had been neatly tied up in about six miles of silver duct tape, and had the words DO NOT OPEN UNTIL DECEMBER 25th written across it in hugeaft black letters. The thought suddenly occured to Prime that this could be HIS present, so not wanting to spoil his own surprise he quickly disengaged his curiosity capacitor and carefully closed the door.

Waitaminute, cute little silver Decepticon logos?!
